Guest rooms

The old days bungalows, charming holiday homes built along the beach and the so typical “boutiks”, Creole name for the last century grocery shops, are the main source of inspiration for the architecture and decoration of the rooms: wax-coated cement “béton ciré” floors, locally called “châlit”, rough walls, wood, coconut fibre carpets, driftwood mirrors and screens all beautifully crafted by skilled local workmen together with a few “design” details here and there.

Trendy bright colours; yellow, orange and red together with a few verses of poetry on the cushions, and "sirandanes”, naïve, fun, poetical and full of wisdom Creole riddles, written on the walls,  liven up the uncluttered decoration. The paintings are inspired by the Mauritian writer and painter, Malcolm de Chazal.
Guests will be able to discover his work, among which the simple, naïve and almost real, colourful boats painted with gouache… an invitation to travel to faraway lands. The floors and tables in the bathrooms, which are extensions of the rooms behind bamboo screens, are also wax-coated cement “béton ciré”. The terraces are furnished with comfortable woven vacoa seats with colourful cushions.

There are 3 main categories of rooms thought and designed to match everyone’s expectations: Superior, Family and Couple.

Unique : In your rooms, waiting for you… The traditional “Dodo flip-flops”… those are ideal to stroll through the hotel during the day or visit the island…

*vacoas : textile fibre from the Vacoa ou « Pandanus utilis » used locally

These 35 m2 rooms with their seaside atmosphere, their uncluttered design and their natural colours with dabs of bright sunshine yellow are all situated in one or two storeys cozy, traditional bungalows under thatched roofs. The rooms open up on a furnished terrace or balcony. They can accommodate 2 adults and 1 child (0-12 years inclusive) and are fitted with 1 double bed or twin beds.
